01: Why do you not include the full cast for 'ALL' West End shows?

One of the biggest problems in running a guide like this is keeping up with cast changes. The main actors are not normally a problem, however, as you can imagine there are around 50 West End theatres and a lot of cast changes going on all the time. The PR companies normally only inform us when major parts are changed, although we are sent copies of the full cast whenever the whole cast is changed. However there are normally many minor changes between complete re-casting. Therefore we decided to only list cast members we are quite sure are still in the cast, otherwise there would be a lot of wrong information on the guide which is no good to anyone.

02: Why do you not have the seating plan and review on the same page as the listing of the show?

The seating plans and reviews are in their own section, not on the same page as the listing of the show. This way if someone wants to know if a review exists on the site they can quickly go to the reviews section and check. If someone wants to check on the time of a show they don’t have to wait for seating plans to download each time they check a listing. The guide is designed with ‘simplicity’ and speed in mind.

03: Why are there no reviews for certain West End Productions?

We go to nearly all West End shows, however sometimes it is not possible to get to all. But mainly it is because some producers and press agents don't always provide tickets for us to review their show!

04: Why are there no reviews from the popular press?

Unless we pay a large fee (which we cannot afford) we are not allowed to publish reviews from the popular press because they are protected by copyright. However, we are allowed to quote the odd line to report what the popular press generally thought of the show.

05: Why did it say on your guide a particular theatre had disabled facilities, but when I arrived at the theatre I found it did not?

The information is privided in good faith. However, for some productions the theatre may have to change part of the auditorium which may result in the disabled facility being dropped. Also, visits from health and safety people may force a theatre to stop providing this facility because they are not satisfied it is safe enough. Always check with the theatre at the time of booking to confirm their disabled facilities, although most of the time the information in this guide will be correct.

06: How do I get my show listed on this web site?

Email for Listings inclusion dalglish@londontheatre.co.uk
All shows performing for 5 days or more are listed. However, our policy for Fringe productions is that it has to be listed on the web site a minimum of 3 weeks - so if a show is playing for only 5 days we expect information 2 and half weeks before the first performance. If a show is running for 3 weeks we need the information only 1 day before the first performance. Generally though we prefer information in as far in advance as possible. NOTE: Shows playing only 1 to 4 days are not generally accepted - sorry about this but listing shows is time consuming for us and we do not have the staff to list everything.
