Cast confirmed for A Little Night Music at Menier


Full cast confirmed for A Little Night Music, which opens at the off West End venue, Menier Chocolate Factory, on 3 Dec 2008, following previews from 22 Nov - running to 8 March 2009.

Directed by Trevor Nunn the musical features Maureen Lipman (Mme Armfeldt), Hannah Waddingham (Desiree), Alexander Hanson (Fredrik), Jessie Buckley (Anne), Kaisa Hammarlund (Petra), Alistair Robins (Count Carl-Magnus), Gabriel Vick (Henrik),John Addison, Florence Andrews, Laura Armstrong, Lynden Edwards, Charlotte Page, Nicola Sloane.

Maureen Lipman's West End stage credits includes: "Glorious!" at the Duchess in 2005; "Aladdin" at the Old Vic in 2004; "Thoroughly Modern Millie" at the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2003; "Peggy For You" at the Comedy Theatre in 2000; "Oklahoma!" at the Olivier NT & Lyceum Theatres in 1998/99; "THe Sisters Rosenweig" at the Old Vic in 1994

Hannah Waddingham's West End stage credits include: "Monty Python's Spamalot" at the Palace in 2006-2008; "Tonight's THe Night" at the Victoria Palace in 2003; "Beautiful Game" at the Cambridge in 2000; "Lautrec" at the Shaftsbury in 2000; "Saucy Jack And The Space Vixens" at the Queens in 1998

Alexander Hanson West End stage credits includes: "Marguerite" at the Haymarket in 2008; "The Sound o Music" at the London Palladium. His many music theatre credits include We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, Enter the Guardsman for the Donmar Warehouse, Sunset Boulevard at the Adelphi, Aspects of Love for Chichester Festival Theatre and in the West End, Candide for the National Theatre and A Little Night Music at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Jessie Buckley came second place in the BBC television series I'd Do Anything - a search for a new, unknown lead to play Nancy.

Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by Hugh Wheeler. It is designed by David Farley, choreography by Lynne Page, lighting by Hartley T A Kemp, sound by Gareth Owen.

Set in turn-of-the-century Sweden where affairs of the heart are uppermost in everyone's thoughts. The story centres on the passionate liaisons between four couples over a midsummer weekend.
