Genre: Drama
Opened 30 Sep 2008
Written: by Strindberg, in a new version by David Greig
Directed:Alan Rickman
Cast: Anna Chancellor, Owen Teale, Tom Burke

What the popular press had to say.....
NICHOLAS DE JONGH for THE EVENING STANDARD says, "Fascinating, little-known tragicomedy, presented in a perfectly nuanced, witty version" MICHAEL BILLINGTON for THE GUARDIAN says, "Bracingly intelligent revival...a fascinating new perspective on Strindberg: one in which the supposed embodiment of woman-hatred turns out to be its fiercest critic." CHARLES SPENCER for THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "Gripping, powerful and blackly comic production...all three performances are superb." "BENEDICT NIGHTINGALE for THE TIMES says "With Burke’s Adolph moving from doldrums to despair, Rickman’s revival isn’t only well acted. It isn’t only forceful, riveting stuff. It’s as balanced a picture of gender warfare as Strindberg was capable of producting." PAUL TAYLOR for THE INDEPENDENT says, "Alan Rickman's splendid revival of this wonderfully taut and savagely witty three-hander."
